Kenya: Vietnamese arrested with rhino horns, lion teeth worth over US $ 120,000

Kenyan police on Friday arrested a Vietnam national at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with rhino horns and lion teeth valued at Sh12 Million or approximately US $ 122,800. 

According to police reports, Mr Vuahn Tuan was heading to Hanoi from Maputo, Mozambique adding that seven pieces of rhino horns, rhino tails and lion teeth all weighing 11.89 Kilograms were found concealed in a polythene bag in his luggage.

“He had just alighted from a Kenya Airways flight at around 11pm and he looked suspicious and nervous and so we asked to check his luggage” Airport CID boss, Judy Jebet said. Mr Tuan will be taken to court on Monday.
