FIFA president Sepp Blatter has on Tuesday announced he will resign as president amid corruption scandal that has hit the global football body.
Blatter who was re-elected last week, has called an extraordinary Fifa congress "as soon as possible" to elect a new president, according to reports.
The 79-year-old Swiss said "My mandate does not appear to be supported by everybody". Seven top Fifa officials were reportedly arrested two days before the vote as part of a US prosecution.
