Lione Messi scored twice Wednesday night as his Barcelona side thumped Bayern Munich 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi final at the Nou Camp.

According to live reports, Lionel Messi scored two outstanding goals and set up Neymar to add another in injury time as Barcelona handed Bayern Munich and former coach Pep Guardiola a large defeat.

Afghanistan: Death by hanging for 4 men for ‘killing’ woman who ‘burnt copy of Koran’

A court in Afghanistan has sentenced four men to death by hanging for their role in the mob killing of a woman in Kabul in March, officials said Wednesday. According to reports,  eight men were sentenced to 16 years in prison and 18 others found not guilty.

BBC says the 28-year-old woman called Farkhunda was beaten to death after being accused of burning a copy of the Koran, although witnesses say she did not, an incident that reportedly led to widespread protests against the treatment of women.

Germany: Police arrests 4 extremists targeting to attack mosques, asylum houses

Four people who are suspected of founding a right-wing extremist group to attack mosques and housing for asylum seekers have been arrested by German authorities, VOA reported Wednesday.

The German officials reportedly announced the arrests Wednesday, saying they confiscated a stash of explosives during the raids as well.

Yemen: 32 civilians killed, 67 wounded on Wednesday shelling

A shelling hit people trying to escape fighting in Yemen's southern city of Aden by sea on Wednesday killing  at least 32 civilians and injuring some 67 others, a health official said, AFP reported.

The official reportedly said  the shelling hit a small fishing harbour and a barge carrying civilians,  blaming Huthi rebels who have been trying to take control of Aden's Tawahi neighbourhood and clashing with forces loyal to exiled President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi.

Nepal: UN, EU in joint effort to support 1.7 million children affected by earthquake

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the European Union have reportedly partnered to send 40 metric tons of life-saving supplies to 1.7 million children affected by earthquake in Nepal.

A cargo plane carrying 40 metric tons of humanitarian supplies has already landed in Kathmandu on Tuesday morning. A second cargo plane, with another 40 metric tons of supplies will be arriving later this week, press release issued by UNICEF revealed.

Nepal: Looming despair as earthquake death toll reaches 7,557

Nepal’s Ministry of Home affairs said on Tuesday that death toll from April 25 Nepal earthquake and aftershocks reached 7,557 and the number of injuries rose to 14,536.

According to Xinhua, some 10,718 government building were destroyed in the massive earthquake while 14,741 sustained partial damages. About 191,058 civilian houses have been flattened and 175,162 were partially devastated.

The district hit worst in the quake is Sindhupalchowk which recorded 2,911 causalities while Kathmandu witnessed 1,202 and Nuwakot 904, the ministry said.

Afghanistan: Over 39 killed in militant attacks in just 48 hours

At least 39 people have been killed in the past 48 hours in the on going militant attacks and conflicts in Afghanistan, officials said Monday.

Xinhua said a suicide bomber blew himself up next to a bus of the employees of Attorney General Office in capital city Kabul Monday morning killing himself and another, besides injuring 15 more people, all civilians.

Nepal: Death toll of earthquake hits 7,365 over 14,000 injured-officials

With Nepalese officials warning that it may be difficult to find  more survivors, the death toll from April 25 earthquake that hit Nepal has risen to 7,365 with the injury number standing at 14,366, agencies repored.

The Nepalese government reportedly said Saturday that chances of finding survivors buried in rubble are "extremely slim." Nepal’s Home Ministry spokesman Laxmi Dhakal reportedly said “It will be a miracle if anyone is found alive,” adding that “but we have not completely given up yet and are continuing to look.”

Iraq: 28 killed while over 29 wounded in bomb attack with Islamic State militants

At least 28 people were killed while over 29 others injured on Monday in bomb attacks and clashes with Islamic State (IS) militants across Iraq, security sources revealed to Xinhua.

A provincial security source reportedly told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that IS militants seized an abandoned industrial facility in Anbar province and a nearby railway station after heavy clashes with Iraqi forces near the IS-held town of Garma, just east of the city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of the capital of Baghdad.
